App Store Screenshot Typography: Fonts, Sizes, and What Actually Reads
90% of "my screenshots don't convert" is actually "my text is too small." Here's the typography rule book.
Screenshots are first seen at 40% scale in the App Store carousel. Every typography choice should survive that shrink.
Font choice
Sans-serif with a tall x-height reads best: Inter, Söhne, Geist, SF Pro. Serifs look elegant at full scale and turn to mush at thumbnail.
Sizes
Headline caption: minimum 72pt at full resolution. Secondary text: 42pt+. Anything under that is invisible in the carousel.
Hierarchy
One bold caption. One supporting line, maybe. Three levels of hierarchy in a screenshot is already one too many.
